PRODUCT INFORMATION

A deep penetrating, weatherproof wood sealer which nourishes, preserves and beautifies exterior woodwork and timber with proven, long lasting protection against the damaging effects of sun, water, weather and mildew.

Exterior window frames, garage doors, fascias, garden furniture, fences, gates, decks, etc.

Interior furniture and woodwork.

FEATURES

Nova 14 Novaseal contains extra UV inhibitors, water repellents and anti-fungal agents.
It contains no waxes, gives a semi-gloss finish and maintains its flexibility.
Nova 14 Novaseal wood sealer is quick drying (Typically 3 - 5 hours), can be used on any wood surfaces including doors, window frames and furniture, both interior and exterior, and lasts up to 36 months.
It is the only product that can be used over Nova 15 Timberseal.

PREPERATION

Clean surfaces with mineral turpentine and steel wool.
Sand to a fine, smooth finish.
Remove residues of old paint or varnish with Nova 8 Novastrip, followed by Nova 11 Wax. Remover, rinse well and allow to dry.
Sand to a fine smooth finish.
Severely neglected surfaces need deeper sanding to remove dry rot. Less severely neglected surfaces may be restored by brushing on a mixture of one part washing soda in 10 parts water, leaving for 10 - 30 minutes and removing the sludge with a scrubbing brush.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water, allow to dry and sand to a fine, smooth finish.

APPLICATION

Ensure that wood is properly dry.
Stir well before use.
Do not thin wood sealer.
Apply a liberal first coat using a clean brush.
Work in well, especially on end grain.
Allow wood sealer to dry for 4 - 8 hours. (Allow more time in cold or damp weather).
Sand lightly and apply a second coat.
Apply a third coat to soft or neglected wood or end grain.
Clean equipment immediately after use with Nova 11 Brush Cleaner or mineral turpentine.

HINTS & TIPS

While Nova 14 Novaseal wood sealer can be used to protect wooden decks, it does not have good resistance to foot traffic. In this application, it will need to be re-applied regularly.
